Haiti Mission & Child Sponsorship

Our work in Haiti partners with Grace Baptist Church located in the rural mountain village of Thoman.  We are committed to a long-term partnership in this community.  It is our desire to help this church and to help the local believers increase their Kingdom impact.  Not long after God began to lead us to partner with the church in Thoman,  we prayerfully explored the option of beginning a sponsorship program.  Friends Loving Friends in Christ – Haiti was formed early in 2013.  FLFC is an independent non-profit organization with a purpose of helping provide an education, meals and the good news of Jesus Christ to the poor children in the Thoman area.  FLFC has since partnered with an organization called But God Ministries to further help the families of Thoman – On this page you can learn more about them and see ways you can make a difference in the life of a child and their family in Haiti.  There are still many children and families who need your help – to see children who need sponsored click here.

Haiti Mission Trips – We have teams that travel to Haiti several times each year. Trips will usually include things like a medical clinics, VBS, visiting sponsored children and their families, and building  new homes in the community.  There’s something for anyone interested in going.  We have a significant need for nurses and other medically trained personnel on our trips, since many of the Haitian people have little or no medical care.

A Photo Essay of Thoman, Haiti

In July 2016, Jonas Stewart traveled to Thoman, Haiti for one week. Thoman is a village in the southeastern mountains of Haiti with a population of about 5,000. He was there on a mission trip planned through But God Ministries. He was accompanied by his parents, members of the church, and a group from Mississippi. In this time, his group worked with the local hope center and added children to the sponsor program. His time was well spent and he plans to go back. In only one week, he managed to capture a glimpse of this beautiful country and those who inhabit it. Click Here to see a few of his photos taken with a digital camera.
