Church, I am deeply concerned that we respond appropriately to results of the current election. I suspect that most of us have some candidates and initiatives that won and some that lost. You may be primarily elated with the overall outcome of the election or mostly disappointed. Regardless how you specifically perceive the outcome of the various races, I want to encourage a thoroughly Christian response. I will be talking about this a bit Sunday, but in the mean time I would like to encourage you to read another pastor's writing on this matter. Dr. Mark D. Roberts has written a series of articles that I thoroughly agree with and ask that you take time to read. Take time to pause, think, pray and see how God would have us respond. (Click HERE to read the article.)

We are the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is important that we respond Biblically and appropriately. It concerns me that sometimes our response is far more political than it is Christian, and not necessarily well thought out at that.

Because it matters - Pastor Al

FBC is a church community that seeks to offer relevant messages and God honoring worship in an informal atmosphere. We believe the process of entering into a relationship with Jesus Christ and developing as disciples should be simple. We seek to provide clear opportunities to Love God, Grow Together and Impact the World so that together we can accomplish God’s purposes.
Loving God Growing Together Impacting the World
The practical side of Loving God is the fact that we exist to encourage people to connect with God through faith in what Jesus Christ has provided for us on the cross. Once they have that connection we expect people to be involved in private and corporate Worship. We also want people to understand that ultimately Worship should become a lifestyle that affects our whole life. The practical side of Growing Together is that we encourage people to become connected to a Sunday School class or Small Group. It is in the context of these smaller groups that Biblical Community is developed, Biblical truth is communicated, growth is encouraged, discipleship takes place, authentic relationships are experienced, life is shared, and mutual accountability is experienced. We believe that discipleship and spiritual growth is best accomplished in Biblical Community as we each grow together and experience life change. So, we expect people to connect with a small group and be committed to growing together as a believer. Impacting the World is about being involved in Ministry & Mission. Truly growing disciples are serving disciples. God equips all of us with Spiritual gifts, abilities and experiences that He expects us to use serving Him and others. You will find a variety of ministry and service opportunities @ FBC to connect with this important purpose of God. We also Impact the World through sharing the Good News of Jesus and His love with those around us and around the world. Being on Mission sometimes means sharing Jesus with a neighbor and sometimes it means walking across the street or traveling around the world to minister to someone in a time of need.

Al Fowler FBC is a church community that God has called on a journey. That journey is about Loving God, Growing Together and Impacting the World. We pray that you find FBC to be a warm and friendly church where you are as loved and accepted as you would be by Jesus. While we want you to feel welcome and comfortable, we also want to challenge you. We want to challenge you to connect with the God that loves you. We want you to experience what it is to be in a community of believers that are about Loving God, Growing Together and Impacting the World. We are convinced that God wants to connect with you and we would love to be a part of helping you experience this journey with Him.

Because it matters, Al Fowler, Pastor
